FORMER DOLPHIN TELECOMS INSTALLATIONS As you may be aware the former telecoms operator Dolphin/Inquam went into administration/receivership in 2004, leaving the receiver to dispose of its assets which included a large number of base station sites. The sites were initially marketed but with little success. In 2005 Inquam in receivership disclaimed assets under section 178 of the Insolvency Act 1986, effectively transferring the ownership of the sites from Inquam to the individual site providers. HarnetTel obtained the details of these disclaimed sites from the receiver. In addition HarnetTel is instructed by the receiver to dispose of a further portfolio of Dolphin sites to raise money for its creditors. Market conditions have toughened over the last 24 months with planning becoming much more difficult, site providers / agents expecting unreasonable terms and objectors gaining more credibility. In addition many operators have had a change in strategy coupled with budget constraints. This is evidenced by the fact that after originally discounting the Dolphin portfolio, several operators have now taken on a number of these sites. HarnetTel has therefore contacted the new owners and agreed to re-market these sites to the operators as we believe that they offer a perfect ready made and value for money solution for:
There is a mixture of greenfield and rooftop sites. All greenfield sites have a Portasilo cabin with mast in a compound with power supply and BT lease line connected. All rooftops have an internal room or an external Portasilo cabin with power supply and BT lease line connected, and antenna and dish poles, cable management etc. We believe that these sites offer huge benefits to operators in taking them over such as:
The terms of the deal may vary slightly on each individual site in accordance with market conditions, however the basis of the deal on most sites is that the incoming operator would be required to pay a capital sum to purchase the existing infrastructure and at the same time enter into a lease agreement with the site provider in the usual way.
